Events Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
One of the larger Martin Luther King Jr. Day observances is in Southfield. It's the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Peace Walk Celebration and participants will meet at Hope United Methodist Church and walk to the Southfield Pavilion for a program about King.
Many other cities, schools and organizations in the Detroit area also have special events planned for today to celebrate the birth of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior.
