Michigan Emerging Event Returning For 2011: Michigan Emerging will connect, inform and educate hundreds on Monday, Nov. 14 at Cobo Hall in Detroit. Michigan Emerging is a comprehensive, non-political, cross-industry event spotlighting the initiatives of universities, corporations and individuals. It will aid in the development of a more diverse, robust and competitive Michigan. Michigan Emerging is proud to announce that they have been chosen as one of 10 exclusive events endorsed and promoted by the National Organization Global Entrepreneurship Week. It will connect people through local, national and global activities designed to help them become self-starters and innovators. Events like Michigan Emerging provide participants with the knowledge, skills and networks needed to grow, collaborate, motivate and dominate--contributing significantly to the future of Michigan. Farmington Schools Set Tech Parent Event: How is Farmington Public Schools meeting the needs of 21st Century learners in a mobile world? What is being used in classrooms to integrate technology in a cost effective and authentic way? Do technologies exist that can create dynamic learning environments and inspire intrinsic motivation in unique learners? The answer to all questions is yes. Wednesday, Oct. 5: Team SBA Financing Roundtable - Before you apply for a business loan, we recommend that you first attend this SBA Financing Roundtable. This is a free loan orientation conducted by a business banker, a business consultant from the SBA's network of Small Business & Technology Development Centers, and an SBA representative. You'll learn how the lending process works and what is expected of you and you'll understand how the SBA can assist with our SBA Guaranteed Loan Program. This session is best suited to those who have good credit, a solid business idea, and some money to invest in their business. Because the SBA does not provide loan guarantees to real estate investment firms, including purchasing and rehabbing houses for sale, this type of financing is not discussed at the roundtables.
