CARHS, EDAG Offer Lightweight Car Body Design Seminar: The design and development of lightweight vehicles is among the most important area of vehicle design. In particular, electric vehicles with big and heavy battery units require lightweight bodies. This seminar's focus is on car concepts featuring ideas from extreme lightweight design which can be integrated in standard designs. A symbiosis from the application of modern lightweight materials and the design of adapted lightweight structures leads to efficient lightweight design. This multidisciplinary task is only possible with development strategies which can handle defined requirements from crash safety, driving dynamics, comfort, acoustics, robustness and production of a car simultaneously. It is the aim of this seminar to teach the development of lightweight car structures. This seminar is given by CARHS, German consultants in automotive safety, in cooperation with EDAG, a full-service development partner for the global automotive industry.
