Macomb-OU INCubator Sets Presentation From Livio Founder: The Macomb-OU INCubator at Velocity Center will host Jake Sigal, founder and CEO of Ferndale-based Livio Radio, for its next Fireside Growth Series presentation. The Fireside Growth Series is interactive and designed to educate emerging entrepreneurs on the trials and tribulations of creating a successful business, with real stories of business success. During each session, presented by a successful entrepreneur, the speaker will discuss challenges, solutions and successes. The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 at the incubator, 6633 18 Mile Road, Sterling Heights. Coffee and dessert will be served. Keweenaw Sets Spark Plug Awards Dinner: The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce and Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance, along with co-sponsors MTEC SmartZone are joining together to host a business community awards celebration dinner on Jan. 31. The event will recognize businesses nominated by Chamber and KEDA members for their efforts in the 2012 calendar year, and give the Keweenaw community the opportunity to nominate a person or project of the year. The awards celebration will take place at the Shelden Grill, with "Spark Plug" awards handed out in six categories of business performance. All recipients of the Spark Plug award must be KEDA or Chamber members. Nominations for all Spark Plug awards will be received from each group's membership. The award for person or project of the year award will be open to nominations from anyone in the community. The award winner will be recognized for being "a high impact project or person that is notable in the community which will provide a lasting benefit to the Keweenaw". To nominate a person or project for this award, community members can visit the Chamber website and click "2012 awards celebration" then follow the link to the nomination form. Chamber and KEDA members who would like to attend the dinner can do so by purchasing tickets at the Chamber of Commerce or contacting Trina at the Chamber office at 482-5240 (or go to Keweenaw.org). Tickets are $40 per person. Businesses can purchase a table for 8 people for $300. Networking and cash bar starts at 5 p.m. Dinner at 6 p.m., awards at 7 p.m.

Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo. There are also optional one-on-one meetings from 1 to 3 p.m. Sign up for one of eight 15-minute sessions to discuss your project or learn more about the Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer research funding programs. Grand Valley Sets Supply Chain Conference: Grand Valley State University will host its 10th Annual Midwest Supply Chain Management Conference, with the theme "Working Together To Drive Business Value."
