Detroit SecureWorld Expo returning: Detroit SecureWorld Expo IT security event will return Oct. 6 and 7 to the Ford Motor Co. Conference & Event Center in Dearborn. Those who register with code 1DETROIT10 will save $100 off the $265 Conference Pass or $200 off the SecureWorld+ Extended Training Pass. Keynoters include William H. Murray, executive consultant for information assurance and associate professor at the Naval Postgraduate School on "Essential Security Practices;" Patrick Gray, principal security strategist and Cisco Systems Inc. and a former FBI special agent on "Security Threats and Trends in 2010;" Rich Garcia, global security manager at Shell International, on "Keeping a Straight Face to Catch a Spy," and L. Frank Kenney, vice president of global strategy at the Ipswitch File Transfer Division on "The Data Breaches You Don't See Hurt You the Most."
Inforum Comes To GR With Evening Of Entrepreneurs: Have you ever wondered what it takes to be an extraordinary entrepreneur? Find out first-hand at Inforum's "An Evening with Entrepreneurs" on Thursday, Sept. 16 at Eagle Eye Country Club. Inforum invites you to network with women business owners who have what it takes to continually reinvent and navigate a business in today's times. Along with the challenges and rewards of owning a business, Inforum will explore the personal journey of four fabulous entrepreneurs. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with these inspiring women, who will share their captivating stories about business, life balance and giving back to the community. The panelists are Wendy Bradley, CEO, Zoe Life Spa & Salon; Becky Beauchine Kulka, owner, Becky Beauchine Kulka Diamonds and Fine Jewelry; Sherrill Freeborough, president, Freeborough Automotive; and Linda Hundt, proprietor, Sweetie Pie Pantry.
