NextEnergy, Columb Technologies To Demonstrate EV Charger: U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Coulomb Technologies CEO Richard Lowenthal, and NextEnergy president and CEO Ronald J. Gardhouse will join Thursday, Sept. 2 to demonstrate a ChargePoint America home electric vehicle charging station. The event takes place at 10 a.m. at NextEnergy headquarters, 445 Burroughs St., Detroit. New electric vehicles from Ford and General Motors will be on display. The event will mark the first ChargePoint America electric vehicle charging station installation in Michigan. ChargePoint America is a program sponsored by Coulomb Technologies to provide electric vehicle charging infrastructure to nine selected regions in the United States. This is made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, better known as the federal stimulus, through the Transportation Electrification Initiative administered by the Department of Energy and the objective is to accelerate the development and production of electric vehicles to substantially reduce petroleum consumption, reduce greenhouse gas production, and create jobs.
