ITS offers Webcast on Symantec Workflow: Grand Rapids-based ITS Communications is offering a Webcast at 11 a.m. Eastern time Tuesday, Aug. 24 on how to use Symantec's workflow solution to lock down the dsektop. In this Webcast the workflow experts at ITS Partners will discuss how you can use Symantec's Workflow Solution to trigger a SEP lockdown of a device. A DLP incident triggers a workflow which locks down an environment, and also notifies your IT staff. Plex Systems offers demos to manufacturers: Auburn Hills-based Plex Systems Inc. Tuesday announced its schedule for live demonstrations in September of its software-as-a-service manufacturing management system Plex Online. A demonstration for general manufacturers will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9, and for metalforming manufacturers on Thursday, Sept. 23. Both events run from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern time. These industry-specific events offer manufacturers an opportunity to explore Plex Online as they would use it in their day-to-day operations. Participants will see how Plex Online tracks lot properties while optimizing and improving mission-critical business processes such as inventory control and traceability, quality assurance, tooling management, and OEE tracking and trend analysis. Each Webinar is tailored to the particular manufacturing audience and will highlight additional features unique to the metalforming and general manufacturing communities. Registration is free. ESD to bring back engineering and technology career expo: The Engineering Society of Detroit's popular engineering and technology career expo will return this year on Monday, Oct. 11 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi. Several universities will be on-hand to help potential students figure out if "It Pays to Get an MBA." So, whether you're looking to connect and network with your peers or potential employers, explore new career opportunities, or find a new job, the ESD career expo is the perfect place to see and be seen. In its fourth year, the expo is recognized for being the premier recruitment event for students, engineers of all disciplines and trained technicians with all levels of experience. It serves those in-between careers, looking for a new opportunity or exploring a career change. Companies will be seeking resumes in engineering (all disciplines) including: architects, chemical, civil, computer, design, energy, electrical, biomedical, environmental, aerospace, transportation, biofuels, manufacturing, mechanical, programming, technical and other engineering and technology related fields. The cost to attend is $15 and includes a one-year membership to ESD (for first-time members only) and the opportunity to network with corporate employers from numerous fields. You'll learn how to pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses, and walk away with tips to build your own "Personal Strengths and Self-Actualization Career Plan." Additionally, as a bonus, guests will get a sneak peak of the new Ford Fiesta showcase and see a hands-on introduction to Ford's new technology.
