ESD Institute Bringing Together Leaders In Education, Justice, Government
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- From Hull, England to Maryland, Oregon, Hamtramck, Roseville and Detroit, The Engineering Society of Detroit Institute will bring together leading experts from throughout the country and the United Kingdom to share best practices in education, police, the courts, community revitalization, and more.
This will take place during a two-day event on Wednesday, November 14 and Thursday, November 15, 2013 at ESD's headquarters in Southfield.
Unique about this event is the fact that it will bring together experts from business, academia, labor and government in a collaborative effort to identify successes, failures and challenges in not only preparing students for the careers of the future, but also in finding ways to provide them with supportive, safe and sustainable communities to help them succeed. All of the presenters have implemented or were part of turnaround plans that help change their schools and communities.
This special event is part of the ESD Institute Next Community Initiative designed to revamp a community from distressed to vibrant. At the end of the two-day event, the Institute will put together a plan of action to implement in an already approved distressed community in Michigan.
