Escape Plan: A Chance To See 2 Seasoned Action Stars Using Brawn - And Brains
HOLLYWOOD (WWJ) – Why do you like to spend your life in prison? That question is asked of escape artist Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) more than once in "Escape Plan," but the answer remains elusive. It does make you wonder, though, why someone WOULD spend their life becoming adept at breaking out of prison. Because in order to get good at something like that, you would have to spend a good deal of your life behind bars. Oh well, to each his own, right?
Aside from wondering why Breslin does what he does for a living, he is very good at it. So good, in fact, that the Federal Bureau of Prisons has made him a very wealthy man; they pay him to break out of prisons in order to learn how prisons can be better built. And it's a combination of big bucks and a big ego that lead Breslin to the prison known as The Tomb.
Once inside The Tomb, Breslin discovers that this job is unlike any other. He's been offered a ton of money to evaluate what's described as the "ultimate" prison, but what he doesn't know - until it's too late - is that the prison has been designed based on his recommendations, and the people who put him there have no intention of letting him out. And that is where the real excitement starts: Breslin finds himself teaming up with inmate Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to develop an escape plan.
With the team of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, this film has plenty of action to keep audiences engaged. It also has some pretty clever twists and turns that the audience won't see coming. Should you go see it? Why not. It's a chance to see a couple of seasoned action stars using not just their brawn, but their brains as well.
