Enjoy! Beautiful Weather For The Workweek In Metro Detroit
DETROIT (WWJ) - Not quite ready for winter? You'll love the weather this week.
It's unusually warm in metro Detroit, Monday afternoon, and AccuWeather says this isn't the end of it.
"It's just a question of how warm it gets, really, over the next few days," said WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist John Feerick. "Just get out and enjoy it. It's feeling more like September than November."
Feerick said the Detroit area will top out around 70 degrees on Monday with sunshine, before dipping down into the upper 40s overnight. But Tuesday and Wednesday will be warmer still — with a high around 71 degrees both days and not a drop of rain.
Feerick said Thursday is looking even better, if you can believe it, with a mix of clouds and sun with a high of 74.
Anny Miny, the manager at Yates Cider Mill in Rochester Hills, said she expects business to be booming.
"Because it's been a warmer fall, we have been more busy," she told WWJ's Sandra McNeill. "We love the nice days as well as our customers. Obviously, as you stand in line it's a lot nicer and you don't have to get rained on while you're waiting for the fresh donuts and cider."
Miny says the apples and cider get sweeter as the season wears on — another good reason to visit now.
But do it before this weekend, if you can. It looks like rain on Friday and it'll start feeling a little more like November as we head into the weekend.
Here's the detailed forecast from the CBS Detroit weather team:
Thursday Night: Cloudy with 70% chance of rain developing after midnight. Low 59F. Winds SSW at 10 to 20 mph.
