Engineers To Present New Data On Flint Water Quality
FLINT (AP) - A Virginia Tech professor who helped uncover the lead contamination of drinking water in Flint, Michigan, is preparing to release data that he says will show the water's condition is getting better.
Marc Edwards has scheduled a news conference for Tuesday with three other civil and environmental engineers. He says they will present independently produced information on amounts of chloroform and other disinfection byproducts in the water.
They'll also discuss continued sampling of the water for the bacteria that can cause Legionnaires' disease.
Edwards has clashed with an activist group founded by actor Mark Ruffalo over whether Flint's water is safe for bathing and showering. Edwards says it is, while Ruffalo's group says there is no clear answer.
