EMU Student Gets The Cutest Thank You Note After Teaching Computers To A Senior
Ypsilanti (CBS Detroit) - Using a computer or going on the Internet is an experience most of us take for granted. Rayvon Williams visits senior centers to teach people who have lived most of their lives without those skills.
The Eastern Michigan University student made an impression on one woman during his lessons and she sent him a touching thank you note.
The letter Hilli Hockett wrote gained significant attention when Williams posted it online. It now has almost 4 million views -- some of which are thanks to Reddit where it received an overwhelmingly positive response. The story was also picked up by Buzzfeed News.
"Ray came along and opened up my ears. It adds a whole new richer dimension to my life." said Hockett in an interview for CBS 62's Eye On Detroit.
Williams taught Hockett the basics including how to use a mouse and browse YouTube. After that she was off and running.
"She's been able to really catch on to using new programs," said Williams about how Hockett took to the new technology.

Thank you will all my heart (and more, if possible) for the wonderful gift of music
yYou have given me (obviously haven't quite mastered the intricacies of Word yet). I
spent all last night searching YouTube and "subscribing" to stuff I hadn't heard in years except in my
mind (as well as some comedy routines that never fail to crack me up).

"Seniors they have a huge interest to use technology but they don't know how to use it or nobody is there to show them how to use it," said Williams.
"This is a gift of immeasurable worth. Wonderful," added Hockett.
