Sneakers with a distinctly Detroit style raise a shocking amount of money for the Motor City's next generation of musicians.
Demand was extremely high for 10 pair of exclusive Air Jordan, Eminem, Carhartt collaboration shoes. Ranging from size 7 to 12 -- they were bid up to between $18,750 to $30,100 (for the size 9) on Ebay.
A grand total of $227,552 was raised with proceeds going to Literacy Through Songwriting Program by the MSU Community Music School-Detroit.
In context a pair of highly sought after Air Jordan XI 'Blackout' sold for $11,267 in 2012.
