10 Students Hurt In Detroit School Bus Accident
DETROIT (WWJ) - Multiple students aboard a school bus were injured in a collision with a car, Wednesday afternoon, on Detroit's west side.
Police say the ABC Transportation bus was struck, shortly after 4 p.m. at the intersection Cathedral Street and Heyden, near Evergreen and West Chicago, when another driver rolled through a yield sign.
About 30 Dixon Educational Learning Academy students were on board. Detroit police said 10 children sustained minor injuries.
They were taken by ambulance to local hospitals but are expected to be OK.
The car, a Dodge Charger, sped off after the accident — and police found the vehicle abandoned a short distance away.
Early Wednesday evening, police were still looking for the driver.
