Election Day
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Declining tax revenues and rising costs in providing services have left many city halls with no choice but to ask voters for millage increases.
WWJ's Ron Dewey reports that on this Election Day, Royal Oak Township could dissolve, depending on poll results of a 4-and-a-half mil increase for 25 years. Troy's public library is back on the ballot for a third -- and perhaps final time in 18 months -- with support and opposition. Public safety levels are also on the line in Center Line and Livonia.
Voters in Inkster, Garden City and Allen Park are also deciding tax millage questions, while other communities will pick city council primary winners to square off in November.
You'll find election results after the polls close Tuesday night on WWJ Newsradio 950 and right here on CBSDetroit.com.
