Egypt's Coptic Christians Vulnerable During Turmoil
TROY (WWJ) - Several hundred Christians from across the area gathered at St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church in Troy Saturday. Organizers say it's a show of support for people in Egypt.
Ramsay Dass who helped to organize the gathering told WWJ that he is particularly worried about Egypt's Coptic Christians, who make up about 10 percent of the country's population.
"We are very much worried that a democratic process to turn over the Egyptian president to a new group of leadership, a new non-secular government will take place that will add more discrimination against religion," say Dass.
