Auburn Hills-based ecoStore USA and Greenblendz Inc. announced last week that they have offset their greenhouse gas emissions by helping to fund a tree sink in Ecuador. The tree sink repairs the rain forest which sustains local village life, as well as animal life.

Carbon Credit Environmental Services of Detroit presented a  Certificate of Carbon Neutrality to ecoStore and Greenblendz for 2011.

"We are constantly looking at ways to reduce our impact on the environment, and this is just one of the ways we are working to reduce our carbon footprint in 2011," said Steve Berry of Greenblendz.

EcoStore USA offers baby care, personal care, pet care and household cleaning products that are plant and mineral based. The company's tagline about these products: "No Nasty Chemicals."

"Our customers are well educated and well informed," said Lyne Appel Downing, vice president of operations for ecoStore USA. "They care not only about what we put in our products, but also about what our company is doing to protect our environment."

The Greenblenz manufacturing plant is now certified under OU Kosher and the USDA Organic standards. Greenblendz, manufacturers the ecoStore USA line of products sold at all Meijer locations, three Metro Detroit Plum Markets locations and online at www.ecostoreusa.com.
