Eastpointe Man Charged After Trying To Have Sex With Teen
EASTPOINTE (WWJ) - A vigilant father had quite a hand in stopping a 22-year-old Eastpointe man from having sex with his 13-year-old daughter.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kim Worthy said Michael Alan Starr was charged with child sexually abusive activity, two counts of using a computer to communicate with a another to commit a crime, and accosting a minor for immoral purposes.
Starr was apparently acquainted with the 13-year-old girl, who investigators say he communicated with through Facebook.
Investigators say Starr sent the girl a message on April 2 and talked about having sex with her. The girl's father discovered their communications and continued to talk with Starr, posing as his daughter.
Later that day, Starr allegedly showed up at the girl's home in the 8600 block of Plainview, near Joy Road and Evergreen Avenue in Detroit, with intentions of having sex with the her.
When Starr arrived at the home, the girl's father apprehended him and called police, who arrived at the home and took Starr into custody.
Starr is expected to be arraigned Saturday in 36th District Court.
