DTE Energy: Power Could Be Off Until Thursday
DETROIT (WWJ) - It could be two more days before power is restored to thousands of homes and businesses that went offline after severe storms blew through metro Detroit on Tuesday.
DTE Energy said about 42,000 customers are still without power Wednesday morning. That's down from a peak of 140,000 power outages.

"The outages are concentrated mostly in Oakland County, Wayne and Livingston counties, those are our hardest hit areas," Randi Berris, DTE spokesperson, told WWJ. "We are getting help today from outside crews from New York, Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania and that will help us get even more customers back on, hopefully, today."
Berris said Tuesday's storms brought down about 800 power lines, and it could take crews until late Thursday night before all connections are restored.
The storms brought wind gusts of up to 74 miles per hour, toppling trees all over the region. Heavy rains also caused flooding on area roads and freeways.
