DSO Offices Closed Following Blast
DETROIT (WWJ) - The Detroit Symphony Orchestra says its offices are closed and its website is down Monday, following Sunday's underground explosion that damaged the basement of Orchestra Hall.
A spokesperson for DTE Energy said the explosion was triggered by a gas and electrical problem. The blast blew off several manhole covers near the DSO.
No one was injured. There was some damage in a basement room of Orchestra Hall, according to a Detroit fire official.
The "Mondays at the Max with Wayne State" performance set for Monday evening has been postponed.
