Drug Bust Nets $2.3 Million In Cash
As drug busts go in the city, this one's a whopper.
It's the largest cash seizure of the year so far by Detroit Police whose Narcotic Conspiracy Crew got a tip about a drug buy that would soon be going down. Officers caught up with a motorist on the city's east side who happened to be carrying $2.3 million dollars upon his arrest.
Police Chief Ralph Godbee says they interrupted a flow of drugs that would have been on the streets. He says they plan to continue targeting mid-level and high-level drug dealers more than the users in possession.
