Drug Bust In Texas Ends With Arrest In Michigan
WARREN (WWJ) - Nearly six kilos of heroin are off the streets and a suspected drug trafficker is arrested in St. Clair Shores.
It was a DEA investigation that spanned the country reports WWJ's Zahra Huber. Federal authorities intercepted a heroin delivery that started in Texas -- confiscated 5.6 kilos of heroin -- but continued with the "drop" in the city of Warren.
Police say undercover agents sold fake heroine to Maria Leyva, a suspected drug mule.
From there, police say Leyva went to a hotel in St. Clair Shores -- where she was supposed to meet an intended buyer -- who never showed.
Leyva was arrested and taken back to Warren and has been indicted on a charge of possession with intent to deliver.
The case remains open as the authorities continue to investigate.
