Driver Stabbed After Toddler Killed In Car Accident
GRAND RAPIDS (AP) - A Grand Rapids man is jailed on a charge of assault with intent to murder in the stabbing of a driver who fatally struck the man's 2-year-old stepson.
Police say the child ran into a street Monday evening and was hit by a pickup truck. Preliminary information shows the 34-year-old driver was unable to avoid the boy.
The Grand Rapids Press reports that the driver was stabbed with a kitchen knife at the scene of the accident and is expected to recover. The little boy later died at a hospital.
