Driver Injured After Slamming Into Semi Truck
FRASER (WWJ) - Traffic is moving again through Fraser in Macomb County after a serious crash sent one driver to the hospital.
WWJ's Ron Dewey reported live from the scene at Groesbeck and Utica, where the crash happened around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
A Chevy Camaro SS convertible was pinned underneath a semi-trailer after apparently slamming into its rear end. The driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The busy intersection was closed for about two hours at the start of the morning rush.
Police had taken the semi for evidence as the investigation continues.
A wrecker crew member pointed out that while convertibles are good for Sunday drives, they don't offer the same protection as hardtops in crashes like the one.
