DPS Court Filings Reportedly State Teen Encouraged Text Messages From Charles Pugh
DETROIT (WWJ) - Court documents show that the Detroit Public School district--in an effort to dismiss a lawsuit-- claims a former student was not against the sexual advances of former city councilman, Charles Pugh back in 2013.
The teen is suing DPS and Pugh over Pugh's alleged sexually explicit text messages to him while he was part of the former councilman's all-male mentoring program at a DPS school.
The district argues that the student "actively invited and encouraged Pugh's text messaging."
The teen is not currently publicly named, but Pugh allegedly is asking the court to name the teen.
Pugh, abruptly moved away and later resigned his position on council.
