Police, Family Seek Driver In Fatal Hit And Run

Michigan State police are searching for the driver responsible for a hit and run accident that left a Detroit man dead.

Officials say 24-year-old Sanuwell Landrum was helping someone who fell out of the party bus he was in Sunday morning on I-75 in Hazel Park. A car hit him, but the driver did not stop.

Landrum's grandmother, Mildred Landrum, tells WWJ her family needs closure, and they're asking the driver to come forward.

"Whoever it was... if it was an accident, or if you panicked or whatever you did -- when you woke up sometime that day, you knew your car had hit something serious. You knew your car was in a serious accident. Because there was no way you could have murdered my grandson and not known your car was involved in it," Landrum said.

"He deserved to, if he was going to die, to die with dignity. Not to be hit in the road. And then whoever it was who murdered would not stop and see what they did," she said.

The man who fell out of the bus was also pronounced dead.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Michigan State Police at (248) 584-5740.
