Don't Skip The College Visit
More and more high school students are conducting their college search almost entirely online, skipping the college visit until after they are accepted to college.
These applicants, called "stealth applicants" by colleges, do not go on tours, ask for booklets or materials, or even call the admissions office during junior or senior year. They find the online application page, apply, get accepted and show up to orientation.
While they might be self-reliant, parents of these students might suggest visiting the campus during junior or senior year before accepting admission, to talk to admissions personnel about requirements and scholarships they might be eligible for.
