Donny & Marie Star In 'Christmas In Detroit'
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Donny and Marie Osmond open their "Christmas In Detroit" show Tuesday night at the Fox Theater.
Stopping by the WWJ Newsradio 950 studios for an interview, Donny Osmond said he always enjoys performing in the D.
"You know, you guys are in the news now. There's light at the end of the tunnel. The auto industry is starting to flourish again ... it's a great city," said Osmond.
"I mean, I think back to the audiences when I was here doing Joseph (and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat). I just remember how enthusiastic the audience was," he said. "That's why it's so great to be back in the Motor City. I love it here."
Marie Osmond said she is baffled by people who keeping asking why they're bringing their show to Detroit.
"Detroit's awesome. I'm telling you, it's like the number two market next to New York for great shows and entertainment," she said.
"There's this wonderful passion for the arts here. I mean, look at the theatre that we're in. You can tell a city ... how they love their shows and entertainment, by how they build they're theatres ... it's gorgeous."
The show runs through Sunday, December 4.
