Does Winning Take Care Of Everything? Nike Thinks So
By: Evan Jankens
Tiger Woods is the new top ranked golfer in the world after his win at Bay Hill yesterday. Tiger Woods will now go into the Master as the favorite and in all honesty I completely believe he will win his fifth Masters this year.
For the year, Woods has played in five events and has won three. Woods has won the Farmers Insurance, WGC-Cadillac and the Arnold Palmer tournaments this season and all in convincing fashion. The reason I bring up those three tournaments because they are all courses that Woods is familiar with. Just like Woods is familiar with Augusta.
In the wake of his wins, Nike released a promotional ad for Tiger returning to the world's top ranking with the tagline, "winning takes care of everything."
True? It isn't a new quote at all. Woods said it during the Tour Championship last year in response to Greg Norman saying Woods was intimidated by Rory McIlroy -- which to me was a crazy statement. Tiger Woods has ruled golf since 1997 when he won the Masters for the first time. Do you think Michael Jordan was intimidated by Allen Iverson or Kobe Bryant?
Tiger Woods has dealt with his demons in the public eye and has seemed to get past them. I think he has returned to the form he was before that night where he crashed his Escalade.
My question to you is this promo ad controversial -- and are you offended?
