Does New Derek Jeter Commercial 'RE2PECT' Give You Chills?
CBS DETROIT - New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has played his entire 20-year career in pinstripes, and he announced in February that this season will be his last. A 14-time All-Star and five-time Gold Glove winner, Jeter is recognized as one of the best ever at his position.
Major League Baseball used the 2013 All-Star Game in large part to honor retiring legendary closer Mariano Rivera - another Yankee - and a similar tribute is expected for Jeter on Tuesday.
In the meantime, Jordan Brand released a commercial featuring tips of the cap to Jeter. The identities of those tipping the cap range from Yankees fans to opposing players to police offers to Boston Red Sox fans to media mogul Jay-Z and NBA legend Michael Jordan.
The commercial ends in a way that is sure to get fans a little more excited for Tuesday's All-Star Game.
The title of the ad - "RE2PECT" - is a play on Jeter's famed No. 2 jersey.
