Doctor Visits Focusing On Long-Term

While a visit to the pediatrician for a checkup usually involves some shots, some questions, and quick physical exam, many doctors who treat young people are zeroing in on questions that help kids long-term development and health.

Pediatricians, who see many kids suffering from childhood obesity and its health impacts, are asking kids more questions about what they eat everyday, what exercise they get, and whether they are getting enough foods with the right nutrients, such as calcium. They are also asking kids and parents about the chores that kids do, and the responsibilities they are taking on at home.
