Do You Know This Man? Detroit Police Release Sketch Of Suspected Carjacking Killer
DETROIT (WWJ) - A man wanted in a fatal shooting and carjacking that happened over a week ago is still on the run; and Detroit police who have released a composite image of the killer, hoping for tips in the case.
According to police, at 9:55 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17. a 20-year-old man was leaving a gas station at 10000 Wyoming on Detroit's west side when an armed suspect walked up to his car, and attempted to steal it.
When the victim resisted, police said, the suspect fired one shot, fatally wounding him.
A witness described the suspect as a black male, 19 to 20 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and around 150 lbs., with thick eyebrows, dark brown "smokers" lips, a mustache and goatee.
The suspect was wearing a blue hooded Carhartt brand waist-length jacket.
Police are not naming the victim at this time. His vehicle, a 1978 blue/gray Chevy El Camino, has since been recovered.
