GAYLORD (WWJ/AP) - The state says its agents arrested four people for illegally killing a bull elk in the northern Lower Peninsula.
The Department of Natural Resources said Monday that the four are accused in the April 20 poaching of an elk in Otsego County.
WWTV/WWUP says the suspects are 19-year-old Joshua Tillman, 17-year-old Alex Webber, and 20-year-olds Eric Webber and Joseph Moore.
The DNR says officers also seized firearms and the elk's head.
The charges carry fines of up to $2,500 and other penalties.
The agency says it is continuing to investigate the illegal killing of a cow elk about March 14 near M-33 in Montmorency County.
The DNR asks that anyone with information call its Gaylord office at 989-732-3541 or the state's poaching line at 800-292-7800.
