DeWitt's Jordyn Wieber Fails To Qualify For All-Round Gymnastics Final In London
LONDON (WWJ) - U.S. gymnast and reigning world champion, Jordyn Wieber, from DeWitt, Michigan, shocked the gymnastics world as she failed to qualify for the Olympic all-around final in London on Sunday.
Wieber's teammate, Ali Raisman, scored well enough on the floor exercise to pass her teammate for the top qualifying spot for the American team.
Raisman finished with the top score of (60.391) ahead of Gabby Douglas (60.265) and a disappointing ((60.032) for Wieber, who stepped out-of-bounds during the floor exercise in addition to other missteps during the routine.
The finals are on Tuesday and the Americans are a strong favorite to wrap up gold at the 2012 Olympics.
