Detroit's Christmas Tree Delivered To Campus Martius

DETROIT (AP) - Detroit's Christmas tree is making its debut at downtown's Campus Martius Park.

The more than 60-foot-tall tree from Cadillac in Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula is being put up during a midday Wednesday event. Officials say the display is presented by the DTE Energy Foundation for the 11th consecutive year.

The Michigan Christmas Tree Association helped locate and secure the tree, which was provided by anonymous private owners.

The tree will be wrapped in more than 19,000 multicolored LED lights and adorned with red and sliver ornaments. It will take nearly three weeks to prepare the tree and park for a tree-lighting ceremony scheduled for Nov. 21.
