Lelli's is an old style steakhouse that really makes you feel like you are a kid again. It features five courses which include an antipasto tray and minestrone soup which is incredible. The side salad is a perfect amount of food and the steaks are off the charts. They have just the right amount of butter, and of course, the zip sauce is a signature at Lelli's. They also feature excellent Italian dishes and a side spaghetti that is incredible.

Fans call it a "carnivore's dream." Successful restaurateur and celebrity chef Michael Symon opened Roast in Detroit in 2008. Located in the Westin Book Cadillac, this place will impress the heck out of your date. The menu includes a variety of creative dishes prepared with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Try the roasted bone marrow. Yes, we know it sounds strange, but you have to try it. It's a litte on the spendy side, but every Detroiter should save up and go at least once.

Ruth's is clearly the best of the "chain" steakhouses in Metro Detroit. The service is always very good, and the steaks sizzle on the plate when they arrive at the table. The bar is a great place to meet friends before your meal, and the side dishes are plentiful. I suggest the mashed potatoes.

Clawson is very similar to Lelli's with its old-school feel. The lights are dim, but the food is bright and glistens on the plate. The NY Strip at Clawson is excellent.

The setup at the Chop House is very cool. This is more of a hip setting, with a bar area where you can eat in the front and a big room in the back. The fish dishes at Rochester are also very good.
