Detroit's Backus Leaves With Hamstring Injury
DETROIT (AP) - Detroit offensive tackle Jeff Backus has left Sunday's game against Green Bay with a hamstring injury and will not return.
Backus did not start Detroit's first possession of the second half after appearing to hurt his right leg. The veteran lineman was playing his 186th career game, passing Hall of Fame cornerback Dick LeBeau for fourth place on the franchise's career list.
Backus also holds the franchise mark with 186 consecutive starts.
His injury put rookie tackle Riley Reiff, the team's first-round draft pick this year, on the spot.
The Lions don't have much time to recover from any injuries after this game. They play again on Thanksgiving against Houston.
