Detroit Woman Charged In Death Of Man Found At Old Tiger Stadium Site
DETROIT (WWJ) - A Detroit woman has been charged in connection with the death of a man whose body was found on the grounds of the old Tiger Stadium.
Wayne County prosecutors say 33-year-old Shayla Deneice Tucker was speeding on Michigan Avenue, at around 1 a.m. last Saturday, when she crashed into another car at the Trumbull intersection.
That second car hit 35-year-old Upper Peninsula resident Paul Pesola, throwing him over an 8-foot fence onto the former stadium grounds.
He was found hours later and pronounced dead at the scene, initially puzzling investigators as to how he got there. Police said he had head trauma.
Tucker was transported to a local hospital for treatment and then taken into custody. She is now facing a charge of reckless driving causing death — a 15-year felony.
Her arraignment is scheduled for Friday, April 8, at 10:30 a.m.
