Detroit Woman Arrested In Ohio With More Than 650 Oxycodone Pills
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WWJ) - A Detroit woman is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers discovered more than 650 Oxycodone pills in her car.
Authorities say 38-year-old Luciana Loyd was pulled over around 2 a.m. Wednesday after troopers observed her speeding on I-75, near mile marker 196 in northwest Ohio.
Troopers stopped the 2007 Chrysler Sebring, which has Kentucky registration, at which time they observed "criminal indicators."
A drug-sniffing K9 unit brought over to the vehicle alerted troopers and a probable cause search revealed a giant bag of pills in the center console of the vehicle, according to police.
Loyd, who was driving the vehicle, and her passenger, 22-year-old Vincent Barksdale of Radcliff, Ky,, were arrested on the scene. Both are charged with possession and trafficking in Oxycodone, both second-degree felonies. If convicted, both face up to 16 years in prison and up to a $30,000 fine.
Authorities say the 676 seized pain killers are worth about $16,225.
