Detroit Beats 76ers In Overtime
The Pistons beat the Philadelphia 76ers in overtime at the Palace of Auburn Hills, 112-109. But they made it a nail-biter to the end.
The game seemed to be steadily in the hands of the 76ers who maintained a one or two basket lead throughout the game. Detroit trailed by three when Philadelphia's Lou Williams missed two free throws with 6.2 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Pistons came back in the fourth quarter to tie and bring the game into overtime, ending regulation game play tied at 99-99.
The 76ers nearly rallied from a seven-point deficit in the final 20 seconds of overtime, pulling within one on 3-pointer by Jodie Meeks with an assist by Evan Turner.
Rodney Stuckey hit two key free throws in overtime to give the Pistons a full three-point lead with just seconds left in the game. The 76ers had a chance with possession at the end, but Jodie Meeks missed at three-point shot with one second on the clock.
Rodney Stuckey started the Pistons off with 8 points and in the first quarter, while Tayshaun Prince finished the half with 13 Piston points.
Prince finished the game with a team leading 23 points and 8 rebounds and Stuckey finished with 20 points and 7 rebounds.
