Detroit School Parent Resource Centers Open Over Break
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Parent Resource Centers at seven Detroit schools will be open over the current break in classes.
The district says the centers will open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Workshops and activities will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Workshops this week will focus on Black History Month.
The centers are equipped with desks, computers, telephones, and play areas for children. Parents can get information on job training, testing help, college applications and other topics. The centers are part of the district's community engagement plan to increase parental involvement in student education.
