Not Enough Evidence For Police To Continue Search For Possible Abductee
DETROIT (WWJ) - UPDATE: 8 P.M.
Detroit police have ended their search for now for a girl that may have been abducted on the city's westside this morning. Investigators say after nearly 11 hours there isn't enough evidence or leads that would indicate an abduction took place on Plainview Street near Evergreen and Tireman. Still anyone who has information is asked to call police or Crimestoppers.
Police were following up on reports that an 11-year old was walking down the street and then grabbed by a person driving down the street.

EARLIER: Detroit police are investigating a possible kidnapping on the city's west side.
Police said the incident happened between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. Tuesday in the area of Belton and Plainview.
Witness statements indicate that the girl, a black female approximately 4 feet tall with a braided hair style, was last seen walking down Plainview when a four-door Pontiac Grand Am drove up next her.
The suspect exited the driver's side door, grabbed the girl and placed her in his vehicle before driving away, police said.
The girl, who is believed to be about 11-years-old, was last seen wearing a school uniform with a white shirt, navy sweater and navy pants.
The suspect is described as a white male, possibly in his 30s, with a shaved head and goatee. He is approximately 6 feet tall with thin build, and was wearing a red t-shirt and black pants, according to police.
The suspect's vehicle is described as a four-door, gray or silver Pontiac Grand Am, with a dent on the rear passenger door.
