Detroit Pistons Help Improve Library At Public High School

DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Pistons are set to unveil a new library for students at a public high school.

Center Aron Baynes and former Pistons player Earl Cureton are scheduled to attend a ribbon-cutting Monday at the Detroit Collegiate Preparatory at Northwestern.

The library is part of Farm Bureau Insurance's Reading Room Makeover contest. Baynes and Cureton worked with other volunteers on the 8-week project. The library received fresh coats of paint, furniture, flooring, technology upgrades and Detroit Pistons-themed graphics.

More than 30 schools state-wide submitted applications to the contest.

The Detroit Pistons have renovated 32 facilities across Michigan as part of the NBA's Live, Learn and Play Program.
