Detroit Offices Closed For Veterans And Furlough Day
Many city of Detroit offices will be closed Thursday for Veterans Day and Friday for a furlough day. Affected offices include the City Clerk and Mayor's Office.
Normal police, fire and bus services will be provided. On both days, the Department of Public Works will collect trash and curbside recycling as normally scheduled, and bulk drop-off locations will be open.
The following City of Detroit offices are closed on Friday (Nov. 12) for the budget-mandated furlough:
- Administrative Hearings
- Building Authority
- Buildings, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department
- Cable Communications Commission
- City Clerk's Office and City Clerk Archives and Records Division
- City Council Offices
- Communications & Creative Services Division (CCSD)
- Community Access Centers (formerly Neighborhood City Halls)
- Environmental Affairs
- Finance Department - Income Tax, Revenue Collections, Treasury and
- Purchasing Divisions
- General Services Department
- Greater Detroit Resource Recovery Authority (GDRRA)
- Health and Wellness Promotion (with the exception of WIC and Clinic Services)
- Human Resources (with the exception of Payroll Division)
- Human Rights
- Labor Relations
- Law
- Mayor's Office
- Municipal Parking (with the exception of Garages and Cashier offices)
- Office of Targeted Business Development
- Public Works (Trash to be picked up as scheduled, and drop-off locations will be open.)
