Detroit Mayor To Make Good On World Series Bet
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Detroit Mayor Dave Bing says he plans to make good on his World Series wager by visiting San Francisco next week.
Bing and San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee vowed the leader of the losing team's city would tour economic ventures and perform some community service involving young people. The Giants swept the Tigers in four games.
Bing said he will join Lee Monday on a tour of two San Francisco companies, then tour AT&T Park with 25 young people involved in the Junior Giants baseball program. Both mayors and Giants VIPs will talk to Junior Giants participants at the ballpark.
Lee had said he would visit with young people in Detroit and tour a Chevy Volt factory if the Giants lost.
