Detroit Man's Family Desperate To Find His Killer
DETROIT (WWJ) - The family of a Detroit man who was shot to death is pleading to the public for any information that anyone might have regarding his murder.
Police say 47-year-old Carlus Wade was walking with an unknown suspect on Margareta near Greenview Street around 3 p.m. Jan. 20 when the suspect produced a handgun and shot Wade multiple times. The gunman then fled the scene.
Wade's father Andrew Cunningham believes someone may have witnessed what happened, and he just wants them to speak up.
"I'm sure someone in the neighborhood saw them walking together, they should have noticed Carlus because Carlus was six-foot four-inches tall, so he was hard not to notice," Cunningham said.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 19-to 22-years-old, 6'2" and 190 lbs. with a goatee. He was wearing a dark blue skullcap and a three-quarter length blue jacket.
Wade earned a Bachelor of Science Degree cum laude in Electrical Engineering Technology from Wayne State University where he was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He spent most of his career managing skilled tradesmen at American Axle and Manufacturing Company.
"Murder has become an epidemic in our community and in our city. The police need help in apprehending these people who are committing these crimes. The quickest way to receive this help, is for us to speak up and come out before one of your family members becomes a victim," said Cunningham.
Wade's family described him as a charismatic individual known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He leaves behind one son.
