Detroit Man Sets Self On Fire During Family Spat

DETROIT (AP) - A 19-year-old Detroit man has died after setting himself on fire during an argument with a family member.

Detroit police Officer Dan Donakowski says the man was pronounced dead on arrival Wednesday at a hospital.

Donakowski says that during the argument, the man went into the basement of a home on the city's east side about 11:25 a.m. Wednesday and poured some type of "accelerant" on himself. He then went back upstairs and lit the accelerant.

Other people were in the house at the time of the argument and fire. No others were injured.

The case is under investigation.
