Detroit Man Convicted Of Pot Possession In Neb.
Another Detroit man has been convicted of hauling nearly 730 pounds of marijuana down Interstate 80 in Nebraska last year. Fifty-six-year-old Anthony Laws is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 26. He was found guilty Wednesday of possession with intent to deliver.
In June 2009, Laws and two other people were stopped in Lincoln for speeding. State troopers found the pot in a camper behind the sport utility vehicle the three were using.
Forty-four-year-old Stuart Howard of Detroit was sentenced last month to 10-to-14 years in prison. The third person, 41-year-old Sarah McGee, also from Detroit, is awaiting a second trial. A jury deadlocked in her first trial.
