Detroit Man Arraigned In Eastland Mall Shooting
A 19-year-old Detroit man is behind bars on $1 million bond as he awaits a preliminary hearing on charges he was part of a shootout at Eastland Mall.
Byron Jones was charged Monday with three counts of assault with intent to commit murder and one count of felony gang membership.
According to police, two groups of young men got into an altercation at the mall just after 6 p.m. Nov. 27. At least one man began shooting, striking an 18-year-old and a clothing store employee not involved in the altercation.
Both victims survived.
Police said the case remains under investigation and that there may have been more than one shooter.
