Detroit Institute Of Arts Offers Free Bus Transportation The Next 3 Weekends
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - The Detroit Institute of Arts is offering free bus rides to and from the museum for tri-county residents over the next few weekends.
The museum is encouraging residents in Macomb, Wayne and Oakland counties to hop on a bus over the next three Saturdays and check out the museum as part of their free "county days" initiative.
Free transportation will be provided for Macomb County residents on Saturday, Feb. 21; for Wayne County residents on Saturday, Feb. 28; and for Oakland County residents on Saturday, March 7.
Round-trip bus transportation and admission are free, but reservations are required and can be made by calling 313-833-4005 or online at www.tickets.dia.org.
Visitors will be able to browse the museum's collection, view Rembrandt's "Self Portrait with Shaded Eyes," which is on loan from the Leiden Collection in New York and take advantage of three free exhibitions.
The DIA Studio also will be open for visitors who wish to create their own works of art.
